My name is Micael, I belong to the species Homo sapiens, I am male and I live in the Mediterranean ecosystem of central Portugal. I am a father. An educator. An intuitive farmer. Passionate about sharing informal knowledge, self-taught and a tireless learner of natural cycles.
I grew up in a village with fruit trees for every season, five springs of clean water and woods where I built bike trails with my friends. Today there are few fruit trees left, the springs are polluted and the woods have been turned into eucalyptus plantations. I studied Active Tourism and Nature Sports, which led me to discover natural places and wonders, but also to see them in apparent degradation from overuse or extractivism. This led me to ask many questions and into a process of reorganising my life that will never end.
Seeking a place of personal and community resilience, I drew closer to the approaches of deep ecology, permaculture, biodynamic agriculture, natural farming, syntropic living, ecosystemic vision, eco-mythology and the cycles of grief.
Energia Natural is the name that best represents my work, and today I live as my mission raising awareness of the integrity of inner and outer ecosystems, because I deeply believe there is no separation between them.
